RK heli-ski offers wide open alpine slopes, scenic glaciers and gladed forests for their heli-ski/boarding tours. Some of the best skiing in the world is only 10-15 minute helicopter flight from RK’s Heli-plex into the heart of the Purcell mountains where the air is fresh, the powder is deep and the experience exhilarating
On the few days RK are unable to access the back country due to bad weather and you happen to be booked to heli-ski on one of those days, you will not find yourself stranded in a lodge as Panorama Ski resort is minutes away. A day heli-skiing can easily be added on to your main skiing holiday whether at Panorama, Banff or Lake Louise.
Guests are greeted at RK’s Heliplex base lodge at 8:00am and can begin to check-in. An avalanche transceiver will be issued at this time and staff will confirm that your waiver and rental forms have been completed. If you are a skier, they will require one of your ski boots to set up your powder fat skis. They will also ask you to step on a scale to ensure an accurate body weight for helicopter considerations.
Now you can relax in Choppers Landing restaurant and enjoy a hearty breakfast. After fueling up on bacon and eggs, you will meet outside for the Companion Rescue Training with RK’s transceiver and a helicopter safety orientation. At about 10:30am, one group of heli-skiers will fly directly from the Heliplex lodge to the beautiful Purcell Mountains, while other groups are shuttled nearby staging sites where they will be picked up by helicopter; also bound for the Purcell’s.
Powder Heli-Ski Adventure – 3 run package
3 runs in a B212 Helicopter with use of Armada powder skis/poles or Burton Fish Snowboards included. Also included is all the safety equipment, guide and Avalanche transceiver. Enjoy the hearty hot break fast when you arrive, a picnic lunch in a scenic spot during the day with après with your fellow heli-skiers at the end of the day.
